From trend to formula: how new collections are born

The formulas Verel is bringing to the fair are based on an analysis of the end-consumer market, even before a brief is received.

Two of the signals that have guided this year's innovations:

• Skin layering: a Korean-inspired layered routine that requires light, buildable textures for every step.
• Body skinification: body care that adopts the actives and textures of facial skincare.

For a brand, this means starting with formulas that are already developed and aligned with demand, allowing them to customize rather than start from scratch.

The proprietary botanical actives at the heart of the formulas

A proprietary active is a functional ingredient developed and produced in-house by Verel, with its own efficacy data. For a brand, it is a point of differentiation that cannot be found in standard formulas.

• SAFFROSENSE™ (saffron flower, Crocus sativus): in an in vivo study on 30 volunteers over 28 days, a 2% serum reduced wrinkle depth by 15.5% and improved firmness by 8 times and elasticity by 2 times compared to a placebo. COSMOS Approved and China Approved.
• BERGALUXE™ (bergamot leaves): in vivo on 30 volunteers over 28 days, +11.6% brightness and +8.5% elasticity, both 2 times the placebo. COSMOS Approved and China Approved.
• OPUNTICELL™ (prickly pear, Opuntia ficus-indica): a moisturizing active ingredient tested ex vivo using transepidermal water loss (TEWL) measurements for recovery and protection against dehydration. COSMOS Approved.

The data refers to the active ingredients. Claims for the finished product are confirmed through dedicated testing on the client's formula.
